This course is established by Dean 2023-05-23. The course syllabus is approved by Head of Department of Industrial Economics 2025-09-24 and applies from 2025-09-24.
Admisson to the course requires 90 completed credits in a technical field, statistics, 5 credits and computer science or software engineering, 12 credits. English 6.
The course aims to develop student’s knowledge and understanding of entrepreneurial conditions and requirements for launching software-intensive products and services on the market. It also aims to enhance student’s ability to initiate and develop a software-based business idea.
The course covers entrepreneurial processes in software-intensive environments and the conditions for launching software-intensive products. Topics include idea evaluation, partnerships, scaling strategies and the role of entrepreneurial ecosystems and engineering practices

Learning activities include lectures, reading and discussion of course literature and scientific articles, as well as individual or group-based assignments. In the course, theoretical knowledge is applied in a practical assignment related to the commercialization of a software-inspired development project.

The final grade is based on a weighted assessment of all examination components.
