1. Descision

This course is established by Dean 2019-10-25. The course syllabus is approved by Head of Department of Computer Science 2019-10-01 and applies from 2019-10-01.

2. Entry requirements

Admission to the course requires 5 credits completed in C/C++ programming or 15 credits completed in any other programming language.

3. Objective and content

3.1 Objective

Basic understanding of computer communication, with focus on TCP/IP programming. Introduction to layers and protocols, Ethernet, IP stack and associated protocols (IP, UDP, TCP, DNS, HTTPs, etc), overview of communications architectures (client-server, peer-2-peer), security and implementation aspects in computer communications.
